Dr. Arijit Bose
College of Engineering, University of Rhode Island
Dr. Bose is Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering at URI, and has been a Visiting Scientist at MIT and a Visiting Senior Scientist at Cabot Corporation. Dr. Bose is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions in Nanotechnology. His current research encompasses colloidal and interfacial engineering, with specific efforts in the areas of nano-particle/nano-structured materials synthesis and characterization, soft colloid aggregate microstructure imaging (with applications to materials science and biology) and evaluation of self-assembly dynamics and thermodynamics, colloidal magnetic separations, and the use of numerical simulations to understand dynamic wetting processes. Dr. Bose organized the U.S. team of young researchers for the first U.S.-Japan Exchange Program in Nanotechnology. The exchange involved visits by assorted young U.S. and Japanese researchers to nanotechnology laboratories in each other's countries.
