Dr. Kilbourn Gordon III, MD - President of Beacon Life Sciences

Sandy is the former President of Beacon Life Sciences, a venture capital fund focusing on biophotonics, nanotechnology, and biotechnology which was located at The Photonics Center of Boston University. He is a trained ophthalmologist and emergency physician, having completed residencies in both fields. As a consultant to the venture capital industry since 1987, he has performed due diligence in all fields of medicine. As a consultant to multiple start-up companies, Sandy has provided product focus, development strategy, business plan formation, and fundraising.    

Sandy was the physician consultant to Forge Medical Ventures, an incubator of medical companies backed by Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation, based in LaJolla, CA. Following Forge, he was the President of Foresight Ventures, a venture capital consortium of investors consisting of Cole National Corporation, Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation, Patricof & Co. Ventures, and Prudential Securities. He has been a member of the Patricof & Co. Ventures healthcare team.
