
Marcia Hooper - Partner, Castile Partners
An experienced and successful investor with over nineteen years investing in early-stage technology-based enterprises, Marcia Hooper is a talented advisor and board member with a deep understanding of how to create and operate rapidly growing enterprises. Marcia has an investment focus on enterprise software and IT infrastructure businesses, and currently serves on the boards of InfiniCon, Optiant and Powerllel.
Marcia's extensive venture capital career spans periods with Advent International and Ampersand/Paine Webber, where she built an enviable investment track record. These outstanding results were sustained through all phases of market development, all stages of business development and in all stages of the economic cycle. She also was a senior advisor to R.R. Donnelley & Sons for their corporate venturing activities. Marcia has served on the boards of many public and private technology-based companies including Captivate Network, Entigo, Interleaf, Lionbridge Technologies, MarketSoft, PaySys International, Wang Global and WorldGate Communications. She currently serves on the board of PolyMedica. Before entering the venture community, she held marketing and systems engineering positions with IBM.
Marcia is an active volunteer in the broader technology and venture community. She has been a frequent industry speaker and panelist. She has served on the Venture Center Advisory Committee for the Center for Women's Enterprise, and as a judge for a number of Lemelson-MIT prizes and Harvard Business School's business plan competitions. She currently serves on the start-up committee of the MIT Enterprise Forum and previously served on the Forum's Executive Committee.
Marcia holds a BS in Chemistry from Brown University, an MA in Chemistry from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
