Biophotonics Conference:
Entrepreneurship, Medicine & Light
April 28, 2005
Brown University Faculty Club
1:00-6:00pm
Buffet Dinner to follow
The field of biophotonics has many medical applications: molecular imaging allows for noninvasive in-vivo investigation of cellular events that are involved in various normal and pathological processes; and light-based therapeutics such as photodynamic therapy can be used to treat external (e.g., skin) and internal (e.g., ulcer) conditions. The panel will discuss these topics, recent trends, and cutting-edge technologies in the biophotonics arena. Also learn from venture capitalists why such technologies offer excellent opportunities for fundable start-up companies. Buffet dinner / networking reception will follow.
